The Timbers sits above the Truckee River Canyon looking straight down the 18th fairway of Old Greenwood Golf Course. Towering pines, Sierra views, high beamed ceilings, doors that open wide to the terrace. It’s a venue that feels both elevated and easy, the the kind of place where people arrive, look around, and immediately relax. Couples at Timbers tend to be outdoorsy, low-key and just excited to have a fun party with their loved ones.
I’m a preferred vendor here and I’ve been doing events at Old Greenwood for years. The newly renovated Timbers is one of the best rooms in the Truckee area for a reception: great acoustics, a flexible open floor plan, and an indoor/outdoor flow that works beautifully for the ceremony-to-dancing arc of a wedding night. Timbers is one of my most-requested venues, and hands-down one of my favorite places to perform!
THE VENUE
The ceremony happens on the wrap-around Terrace looking down the golf course with the Sierra Nevada behind it. It’s a clean, natural setup with towering pines as your backdrop, mountain air, and a sight line that makes for great photos without needing much else. From there, guests step inside to the ballroom: exposed wood beams, high ceilings, abundant natural light, and enough floor space to fit 175 people comfortably without it ever feeling crowded.
What I like most about this room is the flexibility. The Timbers space really adapts to the couple: I’ve seen it run as an elegant seated dinner and I’ve seen it turned into a full dance party with the doors blown open to the terrace. Both work! It’s also one of the few venues in the region that works year-round, so if you’re considering a winter or shoulder-season wedding, this is worth a serious look.

THE MUSIC
Creating Top Moments at Timbers
The Timbers crowd tends to be fun, eclectic, and up for a good time. I don’t ever just play from a pre-set playlist; I take your inspiration, live-mix everything, and I’m paying attention to what’s happening on the floor the whole night. My goal is to give you a personalized performance that feels like a custom festival. Maybe the bride is a Swiftie and the whole crowd is belting out sing-alongs, or I shift to Vietnamese party music during a cake cutting to re-engage the family. Whatever makes you and your people run out to the dance floor in joy and recognition, those the kind of moment I’m always looking for.
The room rewards a DJ who can move between genres without it feeling like a gear shift. I cover ceremony on the terrace with full mic setup, cocktail hour inside or out, and then build the reception set from dinner through last song. By the time the floor opens, the crowd is ready, and I'm ready to meet them with the party of a lifetime.
WHAT TO KNOW
CEREMONY
Wrap-around Terrace and Rotunda with Sierra Nevada views, towering pines, and a clean natural backdrop. Ahead of your ceremony, I'll provide classy prelude music for 30 minutes as your guests arrive. For your ceremony, I provide a portable speaker, discreet handheld mics and a lavaliere mic for your officiant. If you have musicians accompanying the ceremony, I can easily coordinate.
RECEPTION
Newly renovated ballroom: up to 175 guests, exposed wood beams, high ceilings, open floor plan. Doors open to the terrace for an indoor/outdoor flow. I know this room, I know the staff, and I know how the night flows here. That matters when it comes to timeline, setup, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
